Meet the Team

Tyler Virgin

My name is Tyler Virgin.  I am the child of an entrepreneurial father and an institutional college administrator.  Therefore, I am thoroughly enjoying the fruits of mixing the ability to create a business venture from scratch while establishing processes and structure along the way.

I was born in a rural Appalachian area of Ohio, near a town that resides on the Ohio River known as Ironton, where the small business is still very much a way of life albeit under attack.  After high school, I graduated from The Ohio State University and became an Officer in the U.S. Army. During my years in the service, I learned countless invaluable leadership skills throughout multiple deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq.

However following my time in the service, my sideways years commenced.  I struggled to find my way in the transition from the Army and began working an IT job that, although paid the bills, was neither fulfilling nor in support of my passions.

Fortunately, I was able to come to the realization as to why people so often turned to me for financial advice and in result, I rediscovered one of my childhood talents – making and saving money. After three years of being in transitory limbo, I knocked out a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) and passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. By the way, my undergraduate degree is in Political Science, so anyone can make a career change as long as the motivation is there.

After working evenings at a small-town CPA firm where I learned a tremendous amount across a broad spectrum, I became a CPA in 2012. Additionally, I gained insurmountable experience in corporate finance while working as a Finance Manager for an educational company. Subsequently, I have started my own firm known as Virgin Consulting LLC. Virgin Consulting LLC prides itself by providing tax and outsourced CFO services to small businesses. We are a CPA firm located in Kitts Hill, Ohio that serves the Ironton, OH / Ashland, KY / Huntington, WV area but reachable from anywhere in the world.

While I find a certain amount of gratification and passion within the financial world and helping small businesses flourish, my true pleasure in life is enjoying time loving my wife and four little girls.  We live on a small farm, in Kitts Hill, Ohio, located adjacent to farms consisting of three generations of my family.  After traveling around the world, I feel that we are truly blessed and privileged to be surrounded by family every day. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, sports (especially college football – Go Buckeyes!!), and running.

Grant Burden

My name is Grant Burden. I grew up in a rural town about an hour northwest of Columbus where I spent a lot of my childhood helping my grandparents on the farm. I enjoy reading, working out and spending time with my wife, daughter and German Shepard.

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati where I was involved in the CO-OP program working in multiple different accounting roles for various companies. I graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finance followed by a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). After college, I found a job back in Columbus where I have now spent around 5 years working in corporate accounting, where I have had the opportunity to assemble month end journal entries, produce bank reconciliation and prepare Financial statements.

I enjoy living in a rural town on the outskirts of Columbus where I have started my own family. The comradery of a small town is like no other. My passion lies in offering my expertise to others diligently seeking out their passion in life. I hope to administer advisory support by providing you the financial information available to contribute to your business decisions and success.
